Tons of Beautiful Orange Flowers in the Greenhouse

These trays look so lush, and all the shades of orange are really very striking.

Hydro stores on Twitter

I’m hoping to find more hydro stores to follow on Twitter. Especially ones like bghydro.com. Better Grow is a great online shop, with a fully comprehensive website. They re-tweeted our organics feed chart, and that made me happy!
Do you have any favorite shops that use Twitter? Let me know! And follow us too!

My First CSA Box of the Year

I believe that the promotion of hydroponics is directly related to changing the agricultural system we use to get our food. And one way that I support that change is by subscribing to a CSA. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, and it means that people get together and pay for the yield of a [...]

Endless Flowers in the Greenhouse

These zinnias are such colorful additions to the greenhouse. They grow so quickly, and will look amazing on stage at the festivals this year.

Getting Excited for the Trade Show

This is a picture from the 2007 Indoor Gardening Trade Show after party at the Great American Music Hall. I’m getting really amped for this year!

An example of some of our label requirements

Martin in Graphics made this neat graphic, showing SOME of the requirements we have to meet when we print labels.

The FarmLab Field has been Tilled

It looks so different empty like this!

More Hydroponic Flowers

These zinnia and marigolds are growing in WaterFarms. The systems are easy to use, and the growth of these plants is amazing. They have such strong stems they don’t even need to be staked.

Seed Starting Tip!

I was in the test greenhouse and the greenhouse assistant was starting some cucumber seeds in a Rapid Rooter tray. He shared a really simple tip with me:
Before placing the seeds in the plugs, soak them in a solution of Floralicious Plus. Use 2 mls per gallon of water.

New Dahlia Blooms

Three stunning new dahlias opened at the Gen Hydro FarmLab over the long weekend. These flowers are amazing. Each one is bigger than the size of my palm. They have colors that glisten in the sunlight that I can’t capture with the camera. This is because General Hydroponics nutrients and supplements create strong vascular systems [...]

BioBud

BioBud provides flowering plants with minerals, humates, and amino acids. It encourages profuse and abundant flowering and fruit production. BioBud works in harmony with General Organics BioThrive Bloom fertilizer as a bloom enhancer.

Archive Photo: Bees in the Greenhouse

I thought I’d share a photo from the 90′s. I love the GH photo archive, and I have to say, after finding this shot, I’m going to start begging for a new hive!

Growshop.com

Kristina Brooke recently mentioned to me a website called Growshop.com. The site is built as a grow store locator, but it also has some blog entries and some informative videos. Please check them out!
