Greenhouse Update, #1

greenhouse201

Our greenhouse remodel is coming along quite well. We’ve come up with a plan to split the greenhouse into four quadrants: GH Hydroponic systems; Commercial vegetable production; Organic; and Research.

In the commercial veggie area we are going to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, zucchini, peppers, eggplant, strawberries and okra in Bato (Dutch pot) buckets. Just like what you would see in some commercial hydroponic greenhouses. There is even talk of getting a bumblebee hive to help with pollination.

In the GH Hydroponic systems area we will have one of every system we offer, for 4 of our different fertilizer lines. Flora Series, FloraDuo, FloraNova, and Maxi Series will all represented 9 different types of hydroponic growing systems.

The Organic area will contain flowers, vegetables, culinary and medicinal herbs, along with fruit trees, succulents and tropical plants grown with SubCulture, General Organics and Alice’s Garden.

We started setting up the systems, and plumbing the irrigation lines. Next we will germinate and plant over a thousand plants. Check back in soon to see the progress!
