Earth Day!
On April 23rd, General Hydroponics attended Earth Day San Francisco, an Earth-focused festival with music, speakers and workshops centered on sustainability and eco-responsibility. It all took place in the scenic and historic Civic Center Plaza, nestled in the heart of San Francisco’s financial district. We were proud to exhibit alongside other environmentally conscious groups, which consisted of graywater collectors, do-it-yourself solar panel presenters, green transportation manufacturers and many more! Excellent musicians and speakers taught and inspired us as we came together to celebrate this special day.
We were proud to promote our ecologically-sound General Organics line, which is produced in our solar powered
production facility and made with pure Sonoma County well water. The plants that we brought to Earth Day SF were grown exclusively with General Organics and the Floralicious line, our potent organic nutrient additives. These spring beauties created a huge draw, the crowd gravitating towards the lush, vibrant Japanese Maples, Conifers, Lemon Balm, Tiger Lilies, New Zealand Flax, Arroyo Lupine, Taro, Elephant Ears, and Hydrangeas. Many commented on the splendid green color of the plants (thank you Floralicious Plus) and also the fact that there was not the slightest nibble from any hungry pests (due to the Azamax, OMRI certified botanical insecticide). For those that were eager to use the General Organics line in their gardens, we happily provided complimentary GO Boxes to anyone attending the event. Please contact your local retail store to purchase a GO box, which includes the complete line of organic nutrients and supplements.
Many house plant aficionados stopped by to tell us that they yearn for more leverage than just the fortunate south-facing window. We handed out Flora Nova for their orchids and succulents and are excited to hear results from these eager bloomers! We were happy to speak with people about the sustainability of hydroponics and the tremendous amount of water and resources that can be saved by using an efficient hydroponics/aeroponic system. It truly was a pleasure speaking with such a well-educated and engaging crowd; we all came away with new ideas to better serve our planet and make a healthier home for the future.
We are always looking for new ways to go-green so please tell us your handy tips that you use in your garden to save resources and respect the earth. Leave a comment with your ideas!
