Alternative Transportation
General Hydroponics has a commitment to alternative energy. This morning Nat, in Graphics, came to work on the bus. It’s got decent local service, and the stop is nearby. Plus, some of the Sonoma County Transit line has WiFi. Bonus!
And when I got in this afternoon, I saw that Luc arrived to work on his bike.

And perhaps the best example is Lawrence Brooke’s natural gas vehicle. It’s truly amazing. It’s a Honda Civic, and there’s a filling station for it on the side of the warehouse. He just plugs it in when he gets to work, and it fills the tank with compressed gas. The car has such clean emissions, that you can run your finger along the inside of the tailpipe, and there’s not a speck of exhaust remnants. Here’s a shot of it.

We just put a biodiesel plant in by my old house. There is a huge farm there that runs soley on biodiesel. It is awesome.
I didn’t think natural gas vehicles were ready for prime time, but you see something new every day.
