Big Time Lettuce Growing

Ok, another video, and this one is about growing, not dogs! This video is less that 5 minutes long, and the music is REALLY BAD. But it’s an amazing piece from the Discovery Channel showing a large scale greenhouse producing heads of lettuce using “deep pool floating raft technology.” They use vacuums to help plant the seeds, they show the process of potting up, and how they harvest them. The video also mentions how growing indoors eliminates the need for pesticides and keeps the fertilizers from contaminating the eco system. The farm produces 500 plants per square yard in a period of 45 days during the summer. So cool!

This was on “How It’s Made” on the Discovery Channel. I was so happy when I saw this the first time.

I think I seen the same show a few years ago and it got me thinking why we dont use similar methods to grow produces were its needed the most. were its not easily accessable. I would love to hear your commits on ways I could help get this technology into everyday americans who could use your products to help change their lives. I have elder relative in NY and It takes her 2hr round trip just to by a head of lettuce when she could be growing in her apt. I would love If you could contact me with someone at GH in sales or marketing about how to spread the word and get this products were they can do the most good.
