Did you know, GenHydro has 2 farms?
It’s true! Not only do we have our FarmLab, we also have a sister farm called Vine Hill Farm. We are proud to say that it is Certified Organic! Between the two of them the land totals 6 acres of lush and fertile earth. The farm is planted, tended to, and harvested by just two men, Felix and Alfredo. They have planted dozens of crops including crane melons, lemon cucumbers, strawberries, jalapenos, broccoli, crookneck and sunburst squash, apples, zucchini, and tomato varieties galore: heirlooms, cherry, plum, roma, and beefsteak.
Here’s what the cool fall weather looks like in Sebastopol, California. This is the view directly behind the General Hydroponics manufacturing facility.
These peppers are just awesome. I love the different colors, but I’m pretty much too scared to eat any of them! I’m a total wuss when it comes to spicy!
Both the farms provide produce that goes to market, generating sales to local grocers and restaurants. Even better than that, next month all the winter crops will be planted based on specific requests from our buyers. It turns our farm into an extension of their business.
General Hydroponics is very dedicated to changing the way we all eat. We are always striving to be a model, and at the same time to change the old models of food production. We encourage you to make the food web smaller by growing your own, or purchasing your food through CSA programs and farmers markets.

Where in the world did you find those little green plastic produce baskets?
